Freixianda is home to a village parish of the county of Ourém , with 2792 inhabitants ( 2001 ).

Within the Municipality of Ourém, it borders the parishes of the couple Bernards , Ants , Ribeira Farrier and Rio Leather. On the eastern side borders the parish of Pelmo the county of Alvaiázere . On the north it borders the village of Abiul the municipality of Pombal.

Freixianda is referred for the first time in a medieval document of 1159 , by D. Gilberto, bishop of Lisbon . This document does not refer to a settlement, but a river, which corresponds to the current Nabão . The text indicates the boundaries of the castle of waxes, in view of the bishop.

With regard to Freixianda, says, in translation, "river passes through the Murta (Rego da Murta) as drops to the (river's)
